Gar Clemens // St.Anthony's Pawn Shop

Gar is Gar.

After a tour of Ireland and releasing a live recording of a nearly sold out Schuba's crowd -- Gar Clemens has had a great year of keeping his fans anticipating his 2013 release of "St. Anthony's Pawn Shop". In early December of 2012 -- An irritated Clemens left 12 completed studio tracks behind to begin questioning what to do next and I offered to produce/engineer his latest effort. From that moment on, "fucking up folk tradition and standards" became the primary focus on this lo-fi collaboration. After being tracked at a haunted local Chicago bar -- Clemens proves that great songwriting can transcend genre.

Friday, December 21 // Lilly's // Doors at 8 // $6 cover //
Mark Taylor opening the night followed by Tyne Darling and Micah Schnabel of Two Cow Garage and Gar  Clemens closes the night at 11pm. All who attend will receive a free single/extended version of "St.Anthony's Pawn Shop" featuring Jim Licka of Umbra and The Vulcan Siege.

poster design by Adrien Aguilar of 'Stoop Goodnoise'
So, I'm releasing a new record called "Sleep Well Queens" -- a lo-fi record compiled of demo's that are yet to be released material. Most of these songs will be released later this year from Allout Shelter, Gush, and maybe even HIS EGO. Here's a taste of "Sleep Well Queens", it's a video for "Lonely Holiday" and check back tomorrow for more give aways. Lastly, we'll be giving a copy of the record away for free this Thursday, November 29th if you attend our show at The Empty Bottle in Chicago with The Canoes, Mooner, and Hospital Garden. If you don't live in Chicago -- email me at tomschraeder@gmail.com and I'll take care of you. For now,  enjoy the video my friends...
